
As you may know, there is a fan game that has been in production for nearly 10 years called “Sonic Robo Blast 2″ (SRB2). Let me tell you, this is one of the best Sonic fan games I have ever played. Heck, this is even better than many of his official games. (Namely his commercial flops, like Sonic Heroes.) Although it is still in a state of continuous expansion, it is not incomplete as you might think. While this game is in 3d, it still does a great job of sticking close to the 2d games that we have come to know and love. This game runs on the Doom engine and has graphics to match. The characters are 2d sprites in a 3d world. This, although it may sound strange, actually brings back some nostalgia for the old games. The music in SRB2 is great, sticking to that all-too catchy music from the original games that rival Mario’s famous soundtrack.
