Some Updates to the Dojo!

Ok, I have done a little work. I have (and still am) moving posts around. (I have a bad habit of mis-categorizing posts.)

The “5 Random Quotes” section has been changed to “Random Quotes” because some of the posts have more than 5 quotes.

The “Random Thoughts” category has been changed to “Ramblings” so I won’t keep getting it confused with the “Random Quote” category.

I am also going to start putting the month and the year on my 5 random quotes of the month. Because I have been doing them for over a year. (Yeah!)

Hmmmmm…..Wow! This post has no real entertainment value whatsoever. Uh, so this dog walks into a bar and says, “I’m looking for the man who shot my paw.” Uh, yeah…..I KNOW ITS LAME! At least I tried.

A Sad Day for Videos…

Ok, so today, I was gonna watch one of my Favorite cartoons, Freakazoid, on my favorite video site, Stage6. Well, get this, Stage6 has shut itself down! Yep, DivX decided that it was too expensive to keep running and no longer needed so they shut it down. It said to goto Veoh.com for videos. So, I went there, looking for Freakazoid. My search turned up no results.

Then, I thought, “Oh, well. This sucks but at least X-Men Evolution, another one of my favorites, is on Veoh. I went to watch that instead, and found that X Men Evolution had been removed from Veoh! “Ok, I can handle that, at least I have most of season 2 downloaded.

I then remember hearing about the “Digital Archive Project” a website that archives old shows, including Freakazoid. So I went there and searched for Freakazoid. It turns out that, for legal reason, the don’t host the videos or provide direct links. They just provide tools for encoding so people can make good quality torrents with the shows. It told me that eDonkey was the best torrent client to use.

So, I installed it. (Now, this shows how desperate I was to get my Freakazoid fix. For those of you who don’t know, I hate torrents with every bit of geek within me. I see torrents as little more than a glorified means of spamming people. because you have to go through a sea of spam to find the file you are looking for. Then the torrent won’t ever work.) So, I started up eDonkey and a message telling me the downloading Music or Movies is illegal and that the eDonkey service had been discontinued and blah blah blah…

Argh! I was not doing anything wrong! Freakazoid was discontinued in 1997! There are no re-runs currently airing! There have been no VHS or DVD releases of Freakazoid! The internet is the only way to watch it! Argh!

This is just a bad day to try to watch videos…
