The Bourne Identity (8/10)

If you are in the mood for a action packed movie, this is a great pick. The story starts out with a man named Jason Bourne being pulled out of the sea. He has 2 bullet holes in his back, and he does not know who he is. Soon, he realizes that he thinks differently from others, he has abilities that others don’t have. Soon, he comes to realize that he is an agent of some sort. A malfunctioning human weapon…and the government is out to kill him.

This movie is awesome. Not only are the action scenes awesome, but the characters feel real. They drive the story, not the action. The plot itself will keep you thinking. (as you are trying to figure things out just as the characters are) Basically, you come for the action, stay for the story.

If you are ready for a action movie that will keep you at the edge of your seat, this is the right pick.

Now I wanna read the book…

My Favorite Games – Part 4: And the Rest…

Sonic Series – Ok, not all of his games turned out so great. However, the ones that did turn out great were epic. Remember the original 3? Sonic, Sonic 2, and Sonic 3? Does not get much better than that! He has made some bad games…yet he has made some of the best.

Myst: – This was just a good game. This game really makes you think. There is no action, no dialog…well, not much dialog anyways. The whole thing is pretty much just exploring a strange island and figuring out what to do next. It sounds boring, but it will blow your mind. Plus, the graphics in this game are beautiful! The 1st one (made in 1991) had PS2 worthy graphics! It is truly remarkable.

Spider Man 2 – This is a great game. The graphics were good, the open ended world was huge. (I loved exploring it!) and web swigging was just plain fun. I have never had so much fun simply traveling from point A to point B in a game. Good times…good times…

My Favrote Games – Part 3: Monkey Island

Ok, This is one of the greatest game series ever. This game chronicles The adventures of Guybrush Threepwood as he tries to become a pirate, win the heart of Governer Elaine Marley and Defeat the evil ghost/zombie/demon pirate LeChuck. This series is full of zany humor, hilarious pop-culture references, and puzzles that will keep you challenged throughout the entire game. The great storylines, interesting characters, and awesome music will keep you hooked. Monkey Island is a perfect example of how video games can be an art-form.

One of the best parts of this game is the endless source of humor created by the colorful secondary characters. For example, there is Stan the used boat salesman/used coffin salesman/insurance agent/ timeshare sales agent. There is Murray, the demonic talking skull. He talks tough but can’t really do anything…cause he is just a skull. There are the men of low moral fiber (pirates) who sit around and do nothing…but make it so funny… and a lot more!

Guybrush: If I gave you your arm back, what would you do with it?

Murray: I’d terrorize the South Seas! I’d torture the living! I’d demolish the… er… What I meant to say was, I’d use it to pet kittens.

Guybrush: Nope. You blew it.

Murray: Drat.

The Monkey Island Games:

  • The Secret of Monkey Island – Guybrush Threepwood washes on the shore of Melee island with one goal: To become a pirate. In order to do so, he must complete 3 trials. The Evil Ghost Pirate LeChuck is has kidnapped elaine and is gonna force her to be his ghost bride. Guybrush must save her by traveling to monkey island.
  • The Secret of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge – Now, Guybrush is on a whole new adventure: To find the legendary treasure known only as “Big Woop” But, unfortunately, LeChuck is back, but as a zombie this time.
  • The Curse of Monkey Island – Well, Zombie LeChuck has been defeated and Elaine has just agreed to marry Guybrush….unfortunately, her engagement ring is cursed. She has now been turned into stone and worse, LeChuck is back as a demon and more powerful than ever. Now Guybrush has to save Elaine and Defeat LeChuck…again… (This installment had newer graphics and voices.)
  • Escape From Monkey Island – Well….Don’t really remember the plot…they kinda jumped the shark with this one…it was funny…I remember that….but I got tired of “monkey kombat”…so I kinda quit…

Here are some videos of two of the funniest parts in the third game.

My attempt at using Linux

Ok, so my comp got a virus, and I had to format the hard drive.  Well, I decided this would be a great opportunity to switch to Linux.  (Ubuntu to be exact) So I downloaded it, and installed it.  I liked it, but it was incompatible with half of my hardware.  (I think I had the wrong version or something)  So, I had to switch back to XP.  Yeah… too bad it did not work out.

My Favorite Games – Part 2: Star Wars

The Dark Forces/Jedi Knight Series – Not only was this one of my first star wars games; It was one of the first FPS games. Sure, some people considered it to be a Doom rehash with a Star Wars theme, but I think it was more than that. This game was one of my first glimpses into the world of Star Wars games. I could not get enough of it, which was not a problem because of the extensive modding community. There are now hundreds of addon levels made by geeks who love the series as much as I do.

After a while, the 2nd installment came out. It allowed me to use the force and a saber.

I even made this video in tribute to the games just so you can see the awesomeness in them:

I did not know what could be better, until the next 2 installments: Jedi Outcast & Jedi Academy. They allowed saber fighting unlike anything I thought possible. The amount of detail that went into the battles was beyond what I could have ever hoped for. Plus, it was fun to use the force to throw around Storm Troopers.

Galactic Battlegrounds – In this RTS game you have to conquer a planet in the star wars universe through means of military might and economic success. This game was made with the the “Genie” engine. (Used with the 1st two Age of Empire games) I used to spend so much time playing this, it is not even funny. I particularly liked to play as the Wookiee race. There is also an expansion pack that allows missions and races from episodes 1 & 2. This game is my favorite RTS of all time. So much fun…

Schools Out Forever

Ok, not really. But it is out for the summer. Yep, it is now officially summer vacation. This is my last summer vacation because after next year, I graduate. That is when life is gonna get complicated. Therefore, I have decided to go out with a bang. This is gonna be the best summer yet!

There are so many fun things to do in the summer. There are cookouts, fishing, sleeping-in, chillin out, eating Popsicles, etc,. But, my favorite summer activity would have to be: SWIMMING!!! I love to swim, and best of all, my mom’s best friend has a pool….and we have a key. She lets us go swimming often. (BTW, thanks Heather. You rock!)

Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your username...
