Ebert Apologizes!

After all the hate mail he received from his article explaining why “games will never be art” he apologizes. He says that he was wrong to write about video games without actually playing them.  He pretty much admits that he has no interest in ever playing them.  While he never concedes that games are art, he does say “I had to be prepared to agree that gamers can have an experience that, for them, is Art.” which is good enough for me.

Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii – If they were in highschool

So I was bored and decided to start browsing  As I was looking around, I started wondering…what would the Wii, Xbox, and PS3 be like if they were high-school students instead of gaming consoles.  (Like I said, I was bored)  Here is what I came up with:

Here we have the captain of the football team.  He is the most poplar kid in the class.  Unfortunately his popularity comes with a price.  There are a lot of annoying 13 year old kids that won’t leave him alone.  Also, some of the parents are concerned that he is a little too brutal on the field.  He also seems to get injured a lot during games.

Sony is a very talented student.  All the teachers agree that he has a lot of potential.  Unfortunately, he does not have much self confidence and picks on the other students to boost his self esteem.  He is the bully that is always in detention and gives the nerds reason to fear for their lunch money.  His lack of self-esteem can be attributed to the fact that he is jealous of his more successful older brother, PS2.

Nintendo is the head of his class.  He has a 4.0 GPA and was voted most likely to succeeded.  The rest of the class always struggles to keep up with him.  Needless to say, he is not very popular.  The other students always make fun of him, calling him a baby.  He has a love of little kids and old people that, while sweet at first, somehow becomes annoying seeing as he likes to pretend that everyone is a little kid or old person.  He also experiences daily beatings from both Sony and Microsoft.
